The end!!

Finally, as a group we collected all the parts but we know that it’s not 100% right but we tried to do our best!!.

Transfer perfume data to MySQL:

Now I knew that I can transfer the access perfume data to MySQL by right clicking each query and chose SQL view or by clicking on SQL view which is shown in the bottom of access page and then copy the code in MySQL. But still the queries are not showing up in MySQL!!.

I did some research and I found that there are some codes that MySQL cannot read them so I have to do some changes. Moreover, I asked the PM student if I’m right because they are done with this and they told me that I’m right. Now, I have to know MySQL language to know what I have to change in perfume queries codes.

Convert perfume data to MySQL:

I’m trying to do the convert but, still I’m not sure how can I do it exactly. Moreover, I discussed this with my colleagues who are doing the same part of mine. All of them didn’t finish the convert so; I’m in the same track with others!! And all of us are stuck.

Transferring perfume data:

I transferred my perfume database to on XAMPP website by using mySQL so, now my perfume project can be shown in php MyAdmin in XAMPP website.

Week 12

During doing my research I found lots of websites that provides a program that transfers data from Access to MySQL. I chose the one that seems more professional and easier to download. Moreover, I showed it to Sir Tridib to see his opinion and he said it’s a good program go ahead and download it. Also, I asked my colleagues who are doing the same part of mine to see what they have found so far. Some of them found the same website of mine to download the program. All in all, after downloading the program I felt that I did the first important step in my part and now I have to learn how to transfer the date in the correct way.

After researching

I have started doing my research to find out how to transfer data from Access Microsoft to MySQL. I tried to use the best keywords to find the most useful information. So far, I have found some useful websites that describes the benefits of transferring data from Access to MySQL. For example, you can use your information in additional ways when it's not locked into Access. Moreover, I will read from those kinds of websites to understand it more and I will keep researching to find out the best way to transfer the data.

After discussing the project in our ECOM 270 class with Sir Tridib Chatterji. I almost understood my part more now. I understood that my part is mainly about; transferring the Perfume Company Database activity to mySQL and it is my responsibility to find out how to do this by searching. So, now I’m more confident to start my first step which is searching.

I know that I’m late to write my blogs about store your information number 2 project. I was busy with others projects and I think that I didn’t organize my time well. Now, I will start writing about what I have done so far on the store your information number 2 project at least once at the end of every week. Firstly, my part is about Relational databases and spliting the existing perfume database into two or more relational tables which will be Expertise with MySQL. Moreover, I see that it’s complicated and I didn’t understand what exactly I should do.
